Pak Beng to Udomxai

Rolling hills, small villages and butterflies

Leaving Pak Beng, in a matter of a couple of minutes its back to very quiet roads, passing through endless sleepy villages and corn fields. Perfect cycling country. You ride in the middle of the road and only occasionally have to move to the side. I spent more time dodging butterflies than motorists.

A bit harder today, a lot of up and down. The last 40km or so were devoid of noodleshops. . So we held off lunch till dinner at Udomxai, ravenous! Managed to find the best restaraunt in town, awesome spring rolls, then rode up to a wat (temple) on top of a hill in the centre of town where we talked to some monks as the sun was going down. Followed this with a beerlao and a sauna. Nice..
