Chappy in Laos

Far too easy in fact. Feels too hot to do anything too strenuous, ie cycle touring. Although i have explored Vientiane by bicycle & from what i've seen i think i'm gonna like this place. Got lost for a few hours this morning on the bike, think i was somewhere in the outer suburbs of Vientiane, but luckily found my way again before the heat kicked in. Plenty to look at, temples etc, friendly people, good food. Seems a lot more chilled than Vietnam. And the beer is good. Beerlao is an easy drinking lager coming in a 640ml bottle, and its everywhere.

I'm got my basic route for the first week or so planned but after that i'll just play it by ear. General plan is to head north. Am keen to see as much of Laos as i can, although i could get side tracked and head over to North Thailand or Cambodia.

Oh well i'm off to have a Beerlao by the Mekong
