Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang

Learning to love the pain

Somehow managed to tear ourselves away from Vang Vieng. Was so good to get away from the hordes of tourists, no matter how nice the place was.
Vang Vieng to Kasi: 60km.
Easy. Sort of. Although head still hazy from the drink.
Kasi to Kou Ka Cham: 95km.
Average speed: 13.9 (Slow) Riding time excluding breaks: 6hrs 48mins

Absolute bitch of a day. I mean in a good way. Awesome mountain ridges and valleys. Smooth road, traffic almost nil. Lost track of how many climbs, the biggest being about 40k climb with one short respite.

Stopping for break is always at a noodle shop, where the challenge is to see how much chilli you dare to add to your beef (or anonymous meat) noodle soup, even though all you really want is an ice cream. Am improving my chili tolerance.

Putting on a brave face.

Kou Kacham to Luang Prabang: 79.4km
Avg:18.7km/h, Max:59.8 Ride time: 4hrs14mins
A nice finish with a couple of lengthy downhill runs and one relatively punsihing climb (16km)
