South to Phonsovan & Plain of Jars

Nam Noen to Muang Kham: About 95k i think
My guts still a mess, i catch a ride on the back of a passenger truck and meet James at the next town. It would've been a rough ride too. Lots of climbing, road under construction, rocks and debris all over the road.

Muang Kham to Phonsovan: 52km

After initial 12 or so km easy climb, was gradual fast descent to Phonsovan, with tailwind. Cruisy, just what i needed with still a funny tummy.
Hmong burial shrine-

Parts of Eastern Laos were bombed into oblivion in the Vietnam war. Old bomb casings are seen everywhere, used as decoration, pot plants, etc...

Phonsovan to Plain of Jars site 1 &2 (return): 80km
Flat but very dusty and rocky in parts. And windy.

Nobody knows what the story is with these massive stone jars, but they're guessed to be around 2000 years old. Interesting...
